Genre- Romance/Comedy
Directors- Amit Joshi, Aradhana Sah
Cast- Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Dimple Kapadia, Dharmendra
Singh Deol.

In the current time and age where Artificial Intelligence is the hot topic, if a film comes about a human falling in love with a robot with a fresh pairing between Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, the audience is bound to get excited. However, the film is far from exciting and the credit goes to poor writing.

Plot of the film:

The plot revolves around Aryan Agnihotri (Kapoor) and his love story with SIFRA (Sanon), a robot developed by his aunt Urmila (Dimple Kapadia). Kriti as a humanoid robot is impressive and Shahid as a robotics engineer is cool and fun. The romance is cute but Shahid’s inability to figure out that Kriti is a robot, even after getting intimate with her, is hard to digest as a viewer. It has to be literally spelled out to him by his aunt.

Writing of the film:
The comedy in this rom-com is a hit-and-miss as there are few scenes that generate laughter. Shahid has a handful of good one-liners and his scenes with his friend/colleague Monty (Ashish Verma) are amusing but the family scenes that were intended to make the audience laugh could have been better.
The film also gives a message in a powerful climax sequence that how technological advancement, if gets out of control, can come back to bite humans.

Summary:

In brief, the film is a wonderful idea marred by shoddy execution with a senseless title. If the makers plan on a sequel, the possibility of which has been left open, they should work to get strong script before letting the cameras roll.
Rating- 3/5
