Sukhna Lake has always been one of the most eye-catchy places in Chandigarh and now it is not just to admire the beautiful view of the lake but also has a latest attraction known as North India’s first pizza ATM vending machine.
What exactly is the pizza ATM?
This machine is installed by CITCO (Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation). According to them, this is the only operating machine in the country. A similar type was earlier installed at a railway station in Mumbai but was closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The brainchild of this innovation is Dr. Rohit Shekhar Sharma of iMatrix Worldwide. He shared that he got this idea from witnessing a similar machine introduced in France. Therefore, to make it cost efficient, they decided to build this machine at their factory in Mohali, thereby bringing to the masses the convenience of freshly baked pizzas. Dr. Sharma said, “the prices of our ATM pizzas are about 35 per cent less than that of Dominos and Pizza Hut. For example, a medium paneer tikka pizza is just about Rs 340 while the same in Dominos is for Rs 560”. This makes it an irresistible dish for foodies on a budget.
How does it work?
This machine operates entirely through robotic processing and uses no human energy. After you choose the pizza you want to enjoy, a robotic arm picks up the pizza base, fills it with exotic toppings, bakes and serves it in just 3 minutes offering a comfortable experience for pizza lovers!
